5.19.20 – Weekly Update from The ABD Team

Dear Colleagues, Clients and Communities:

Yesterday was the day slated to have been our 12th Annual ABD Golf Tournament benefiting the American Cancer Society. With the extension of COVID-19 Shelter-In-Place, we shifted focus and transitioned our fundraising efforts for the ACS to virtual activities through Work, Love, Play and Give with ABD. Of course, we’d have loved to have been on the course, but are grateful for the incredible support from our sponsors and the way this virtual shift has allowed our efforts to grow. To date, we’ve raised 3,296, and the number is climbing. ABDers, along with our partners, have contributed generously and we appreciate the extension to friends and family – social media is a remarkable tool – to drive towards our goal of 0,000. We hope you’ll will participate by donating at bit.ly/attackcancerwithabd and join in on some of the fun. View here to see how ABDers are taking this cause off the course.

While we remain Sheltered-In-Place, we’re seeing restrictions ease around the country, and they’ll begin to in our own cities as well. Which will, in turn, significantly alter the work environment. Companies of all types, from technology to nonprofit, healthcare, and hospitality are examining business strategies, contemplating how to transition employees into the new work environment.

Leading with our company values of Committed and In This Together, our top priority has been to support our clients, colleagues, and communities. In early March 2020, we launched ABD’s COVID-19 website, which contains leadership, business, and compliance articles and resources to help you navigate COVID-19 related challenges. Continuing in that spirit, we are working with a network of experts to offer considerations on how to safely and strategically create your roadmap to resuming operations back to your workplace, when the time is right for you.

Through our webinar series, Moving Forward Together: Return to Workplace, we team up with compliance, regulatory, legal, and occupational health experts from around the country to bring you sources of truth. Over the next few weeks, we’ll provide  guidance and encouragement to help you move forward and rethink what the new workplace will look like, and how to maximize the experience for your employees, keeping safety, polices and operations, and the new lay out of physical workplace top of mind. As you might expect of us, we are approaching this holistically with the full weight of ONE ABD with contributions from our Employee Benefits, Property & Casualty, Executive Risk Services, Retirement Services and Human Resource Services teams.

Tomorrow we’re kicking off our webinar series with “Support Employee Well-being”. Physical, emotional, and financial stresses are heightened, and now more than ever leaders need to demonstrate their commitment to employees’ overall well-being. We hope you join us!

Moving Forward Together is a series designed with you in mind – we are committed to delivering world class service for each of you. It’s meant to be engaging, interactive, and educational to provide you with the tools so you can bring your employees back to the office with confidence. With each step of Work, we are closer to Love and Play again soon.
