COVID-19 Report: Improve Employee Experience with the Right DE&I Programs

Did you know that 45% of companies have a DE&I program? In our latest blog series, we take a closer look and examine 6 main issues that employers are still combating, even after a year of a global pandemic. In the fifth blog of our six-part series we will be discussing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Check out the full series HERE.

More and more companies are recognizing the importance of developing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to support their workforce. It’s important to remember that employees tend to perform better when they feel recognized for their individual identities. According to SurveyMonkey, almost 80% of employees want to work at company that values and prioritizes DE&I.

We also found in our survey that 15% of companies are starting a DE&I program in 2021. We’re hopeful that more companies will seek outside expertise to create and maintain these programs.

Here at ABD, we have six Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) – ABDher, Black at ABD, ABDparents, ABDfirstgen, emerge at ABD (ABD’s LGBTQ+ and ally inclusive ERG) and HOLA (Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership and Advancement) – to support our employees. We’ve found that our employees feel more appreciated and recognized when we create communities where they can learn and grow together with people of similar backgrounds and identities. Learn more about our ERG’s HERE.
